dnd spells that could be mountain goats song titles:

  • black tentacles (soul crushingly sad, quality jazz influences)
  • cloud of daggers (uptempo lofi era banger, a la all hail west texas)
  • protection from evil and good (sonically would have fit on all eternals deck)
  • flesh to stone (one of those hard hitting songs that makes you feel like you can survive anything)
  • insect plague (boombox recording from the late 90s)
  • bones of the earth (2006 inside voice piano ballad played only at 3 live shows)

mountain goats song titles that could be dnd spells:

  • foreign object (3rd level evocation targeting the opponent’s eyes)
  • shadow song (practically useless illusion cantrip)
  • birth of serpents (2nd level transmutation with niche but entertaining application)
  • bleed out (controversial 8th level necromancy)
  • orange ball of love (4th level abjuration with great utility)
  • orange ball of hate (4th level enchantment with even BETTER utility)
  • autoclave (9th level transmutation with a wall of text description)

“I think a lot of my work is dealing with the gravity of agnosticism— of saying ‘I don’t know’, of staring into the endless cosmic void and standing bravely before it.”

Oh holy shit they found Silphium alive and growing in the wild.

Like now that I am awake I need to reiterate how huge this is. It was presumed harvested to extinction by the Romans. It was a favorite flavoring and according to historians one of the best contraceptives ever known. True or not it would be fantastic to study that but it being extinct made that impossible.

This is such a huge deal! I hope they get it figured how to grow it.

“the barbie movie critiques capitalism!” i need y'all to understand and internalize that you can enjoy things even if they’re not ideologically pure

yes insisting that matel’s glorified toy ad movie is anticapitalist is a wild assertion. but it’s also fine to enjoy the dressing-up-in-pink movie without ritualistic self-admonishment and shame. like, you can enjoy a thing and also be aware that the thing is not going to liberate us from the shackles of capitalism. both things can be true.

Someone: hey can you give me some relationship advice?

Me who’s aroace: Communicate.

Someone: I tried but it didn’t-

Me: break up.

Oh how Hozier has written an album about the absolute worst humanity has to offer, all our sins and crimes laid bare, and he says you are forgiven with so much tenderness. This is what makes you human. This is what makes you complex in the most beautiful ways. Look at the tragedy around you, and look at the survivors. Aren’t you all just so beautiful in your efforts to strive forward and begin again.

Look we can’t all have cute hyperfixations. Some of us got really pretentious ones.

Yeah you’re right. It WOULD be pretty fucked up if you were a swan but you were raised by ducks and you grew up never seeing another swan or even knowing that such a thing as a swan even existed so you just thought you were a duck with something super wrong with it.
